Friends of the Homeless maintains a food pantry, furniture bank, and shelters for homeless families.  Volunteers are needed to help in al aspects of the organization. 

Food Pantry:

The volunteer-based Food Pantry is in the North Street Community Church of the Nazarene,  235 North St., Hingham.  Open by appt.

Furniture Bank:

Donations and distribution of furniture are arranged by appointment . Call 781-340-1604 Mon-Fri 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  Located at 48 Sea St., No. Weymouth, 02191

Shelter:  

Friends of the Homeless shelters consists of these faith-based programs. 

  • Friends of the Homeless Shelters:  provides safe and secure emergency housing at sites in Hingham, Weymouth, Norwell and Cohasset, and works in concert with various state and Local agencies to assist our guests in finding safe and affordable permanent housing.
  • Faith Home-Share is a network of families who open their homes to give homeless families a place to live until they can find permanent housing. 
  • Friends of the Homeless Volunteers provide emotional support, information, transportation, child care, meals, special projects and more to sheltered families.

Christmas Adopt a Family Program:  Donors agree to provide 3 gifts per individual, averaging $20 each gift.  You may choose to sponsor an individual or a whole family.
