"If you have faith as a mustard seed ..nothing will be impossible . " Jesus Matthew 13:20
THANKS TO OUR CORPORATE PARTNERS
The Stop and Shop Supermarket Company has been helping the Quincy Crisis Center in its financial need in a number of ways. Stop and Shop hosted their eleventh annual "Dog Jam" in front of their Quincy Center Plaza offices on September 8. This promotion was the kickoff event for a company-wide "Food for Friends" campaign supporting food pantries across the region. Proceeds from the "Dog Jam", in which volunteer supermarket associates sold hot dogs, chili, ice cream, and soda, totaled $2,923.50. Stop and Shop added a corporate donation of $2,000 to this amount, sending a check for $4,923.50 to the Quincy Crisis Center. Thank you, Stop & Shop!
In August, the two Stop and Shop supermarkets in Quincy held a food drive in which employees and customers donated a total of 745 pounds of food for the "Food for Families" pantry. Special thanks to these generous folks and to Norman Foster of Kingston who organized this event, to Lakisha Mobley and Jennifer Baird, Customer Service Managers of the Quincy stores, and to the South Shore Joeys who provided entertainment at both stores on August 26. Clowning around were Norm and Tricia Foster of Kingston, Justine McQuire of Manomet, and Don and Maureen Walker and Barbara Kelleher of Rochester.
Dan Quirk and Quirk Ford have been valuable partners with QCC since 1999 when they were honored as our "Business of the Year" for assisting us with a very favorable lease on a brand new Ford cargo van. Mr. Quirk has continued his partnership with another generous gift. By buying out the van lease and giving QCC title to the van, Quirk Ford has reduced our monthly expenses and provided for years of efficient service to the hungry and homeless of the South Shore. The van is used daily for picking up and distributing food and other items. It allows us to benefit from the Greater Boston Food Bank and many food drives. Thank you, Quirk Ford!
