Cheryl Opper, Founder and Executive Director
The mission of School on Wheels is to make a difference in the lives of
homeless children by empowering them through education to break the cycle of
poverty. The organization's goal is to shrink the gaps in education by
providing tutoring, school supplies and other educational support for homeless
children in kindergarten through grade 12.
Volunteer tutors provide stability and consistency each week by helping
students with their homework, school projects and study skills. Each tutor
strives to build the child’s confidence and help them understand the importance
of their education. School on Wheels is committed to helping children achieve
the highest education possible while living in transitional housing.
Volunteers must be 18 years old and hold a high school diploma.

Wheels website.
