Womansplace Crisis Center

Older Women and Domestic Violence Program
Abuse is not acceptable at any age...  Don't keep the secret.

Q&A

What is Abuse?

  • Name-calling
  • Yelling
  • Threats to your safety
  • Pushing, shoving, hitting
  • Isolating you from friends and family members
  • Neglecting you
  • Taking or withholding your money
  • Destroying your property

What is Domestic Violence?
Abuse that takes place in  your home is called Domestic Violence.  This happens when a husband, family member, caretaker or companion displays violent or controlling behavior toward you.

Abuse can make you feel ashamed, sad, worthless, or that you deserve to be hurt.

You deserve to feel good about yourself, to feel safe in your home, and to feel secure about your possessions.  In fact, it is illegal for anyone to:

  • Hurt or threaten you
  • Take your money
  • Take or damage your property

Don't keep the secret.  You are not alone.
Call 508-588-2041.
