Murphy's Hosts Fundraiser for St. Joseph's Food Pantry

In a letter to the editor of the Salem News, VeAnn Campbell, Executive Director of St. Joseph's Food Pantry wrote:

St. Joseph's Food Pantry wishes to thank Peter Kelly of Murphy's Restaurant and Pub, 300 Derby St., Salem, for the "Celebrity Bartender Night" fundraiser held for our benefit on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Peter is a wonderful, community-minded gentleman who has been generous to us and also allowed this event. It was a lot of fun. Everyone had a wonderful time. We had no problems or issues.

The event raised money that we need to continue our work at our very busy pantry.

I also want to thank state Rep. John Keenan, our emcee, and all our "celebrity bartenders" including: Beverly Mayor William Scanlon; Jim Crosby of Crosby's Marketplace; Phyllis Sagan of Sagan Realty, Donald Kelley of Wayside Rentals; Richard Blazo of Gerald T. McCarthy Insurance; attorney Philip Moran; plumber Kevin MacDonald; Paula Giovanni of Caffe Graziani; Jennie Cudmore of Crunch Granola Baby; Mary Sarris and Mark Whitmore of the North Shore Workforce Investment Board; John Boris of W.B. Mason; Jason Maxwell of MassPay; Mike Allen of the Red Lion Smoke Shop; and Tom Conway, Art Jalbert, Robin McGlone and Fred Lavorati from the post office.
