Israeli-born
Matt Haimovitz,
one of the world's finest classical cellists, will perform two concerts
in Western MA, accompanied by 7 of his best students from Montreal's
McGill University. Haimowitz played Carnegie Hall at 13 and counts
violinist Itzhak Perlman among his musical mentors. Previously
head of the cello department at UMass, Amherst, Haimovitz will perform
both classical and contemporary compositions.
Concert proceeds to benefit
Rachel's Table and the
Food Bank of Western MA. Those purchasing higher priced tickets are
invited to attend a donor's reception with refreshments at prior to the
concert start.
TICKETS: $5 students, $18 general admission, $54 & $75 reserved
