Hunger Summit 2010
September is Hunger Action Month. This year, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts will be hosting its second annual Hunger Summit, a day-long educational event aimed at member agencies within the emergency food network, local non-profits, and community organizations concerned with solutions to hunger in their neighborhoods.

This years guest speaker will be author Mark Winne, who penned Closing the Food Gap. Winne has been a food activist for years, and tells the story of how low-income Americans get their food.
The event will include workshops dealing with best practices, how to collaborate with other organizations, ways to achieve sustainable change, and advocacy training. For more information, email development@foodbankwma.org, or call 413-247-9738.
