Dishin It Up for the Homeless is set for Thursday, March 11, 2010 at
6:00 pm. It will be held in the Roche Dining Commons at Stonehill
College in Easton, MA.
At this year's event, Father Bill's & MainSpring is proud to honor
our U.S. veterans of military service and the opening of the new 32-unit
Work Express Housing development, in Brockton, future home to 15 male
and female veterans.
The evening will feature entertainment, hors d'oeuvres served by
local celebrities, along with a live and silent auction. Food is
provided courtesy of these event partners:

- The Gourmet Cafe
- The Grill at the Holiday Inn
- Montilio's Baking Co.
- X&O Restaurant
- ....and several others to be announced soon!
Tickets are $65/each, or $500 for a block of 10 tickets.

The Marie Sheehan Heart of the Homeless Award
The 2010 award winner is Robert Martin, Retired City of Brockton
Human Resources Administrator, Veteran, and Housing Advocate.
Bob has been involved with human services and social policy in the
City of Brockton for over 37 years. In 1972, he was the Drug Abuse
Coordinator for the City of Brockton in the Mayor's Office and in 1974,
became the city's first Human Resources Administrator. In 1975, he
helped develop the Mayor's Task Force on Health and Human Services. He
established the Comprehensive Information & Referral Service Helpline,
and was a vocal advocate for establishing a health center in Brockton.
Bob has Co-chaired the Brockton Blueprints Coalition, the Mayor's
Foreclosure Prevention Task Force, and the Plymouth County Housing
Alliance.
Bob has been involved with our organization from the beginning. He
helped hundreds of homeless individuals and veterans in the community.
Bob helped create the Work Express Training Program at MainSpring House
and was Cahir of the Work Express Advisory Baord. Most recently, Bob has
been a tremendous supporter of the new 32-unit Work Express Housing
development, of which 15 units will be dedicated specifically to
veterans. Bob has been a constant supporter of MainSpring House, through
his work with local government officials, and by generous donations of
his time and resources has brought countless people from the streets to
shelter.
